Wes Wilson LMFT
THERAPIST

Hi there! Seeking therapy is a true act of valor. Prioritizing mental health is actively choosing to stop re-reading the last chapter of your life so you can begin the next! I strongly believe that everyone is capable of building a life for themselves that they might never have thought possible, and I’d love the opportunity to join you on the journey.

My clinical approach is one that is strengths-based, and prioritizes a balance of nurture and accountability, as I believe both are necessary travel companions when beginning this adventure.

I pull interventions from a number of models including EMDR (eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing), cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and Imago therapy interventions.

I have a strong passion for working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as teens, individuals, couples, and families. I specialize in working with those experiencing a multitude of anxiety, trauma and grief, depression and addiction, as well as couples navigating relational issues such as emotional connection, sexual health & identity, and marriage/family planning.

I have the most training and experience in working with couples, progressive relationship units, and families from all walks of life and value systems. As a current trainee of the AASECT certification process, I specialize in assessing and treating clients with sexual issues and concerns. I utilize the Gottman method in addition to emotionally focused therapy interventions that help get every individual in the room thinking, feeling, and communicating in an effective way. In this work, I prioritize keeping the space emotionally safe for the true work to be done, giving every participant the feeling of being heard by their partner, loved one, or family member. I have helped many relational units grow in their emotional and communication approaches; therefore identifying what was best for them and ushering in a sense of peace and understanding.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you start the journey of building the healthier, brighter life that you desire! Let’s talk soon.
